Ashley Cole is set for his 100th England cap when the Three Lions take on Brazil.

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has described Ashley Cole as "one of the best left-backs in the world" ahead of the defender's 100th England cap.

Mourinho worked with Cole during his time as Chelsea manager and insists the Blues star can continue to play at the highest level for at least four more years, as long as he stays free of serious injury.

"The brain controls, but the body needs to answer to the brain," said Mourinho. "His brain gives him, for sure, four to five years at a high level. I hope his body says yes.

"Ash is one of the best left-backs in the world. He is the kind of player who it is difficult to choose his best performance, because he is always so stable.

"I left England in 2007. At that time he was the best. Six years later he is still the best. He has won everything at club level and is getting his 100th cap. I believe the football world in England knows who he is."

England boss Roy Hodgson confirmed earlier this week that Cole would start against Brazil on Wednesday, which will see the veteran defender earn his 100th cap.

England are 12/5 to beat Brazil in the friendly fixture, a win for the South American heavyweights is 13/10 and the draw is 12/5.
