Head coach Peter Moores has vowed to put things right after signing a one-year contract extension with Lancashire which ties him to the county until 2014.

We all know the direction we want the club to go in.

The former England coach is eager to help the Red Rose outfit bounce back straight away, after they were relegated to the second division of the County Championship just 12 months after being crowned champions.

Moores told his county's official website: "It just seemed the perfect fit to sign for another year. We all know the direction we want the club to go in.

"We have had some tremendous success in winning the title, then we had a frustrating year last year. First of all we need to put that right.

"Being at Lancashire and committing to that timeframe seems right for me at the moment. It gives both me and the club some stability for the next few years."

Lancs are 1/50 to win the County Championship Division Two title in 2013, with Hampshire 1212/1 and Worcestershire 1212/1.

Moores has already drafted in two quality recruits to bolster the squad at Old Trafford, with former Australia batsman Simon Katich and ex-England seamer Kabir Ali both joining from Hampshire.
