Wade to get more overs
Wicketkeeper Matthew Wade will get more chance to show off his bowling skills in Test cricket, says Australia captain Michael Clarke.
Wade, who has retained the gloves in the face of competition from former incumbent Brad Haddin, was handed the ball in the first Test against Sri Lanka.
He bowled the last over before tea, bowling up to 132km/h.
And Clarke won't be worried about giving him further opportunities, as he looks to get wickets any way he can.
The Australia captain told Fox Sports: "He bowled with good pace. There are some opening bowlers around the world who struggle to reach the 132km/h Matt generated.
"We're going to see more of Matthew Wade bowling in Test cricket, that's for sure.
"The only thing we have to figure out now is who will take the gloves, Phil Hughes, who did it last Tuesday, or Dave Warner?
"Matt got me out a couple of times in the nets and got himself an over in Test cricket. It won't be his last.
"He loves his bowling. And it reinforces my belief since I've been captain that it doesn't matter how we get 20 wickets or who takes them to win the Test.
"If Matt gets some of those or Mike Hussey or Dave Warner then great."
Meanwhile, Clarke expects to be fully fit for the Boxing Day Test, despite having picked up a hamstring strain in Hobart.
He will need daily visits to team physio Alex Kountouris, but says he is "supremely confident" of playing at the MCG.
Clarke said: "There will be a lot of rehab, first in Sydney and then in Melbourne from Saturday afternoon.
"I'll certainly be doing everything in my power to make sure I'm in good shape for the second Test.
"The one thing I would never do is jeopardise the team's chances of victory by playing unless I was fully fit.
"But given the strain was very mild and I was able to field for the last four sessions in Hobart without discomfort means I expect to be right for the biggest day on the cricketing calendar."
Australia are 8/13 to beat Sri Lanka in the second Test, with the tourists available at 5/1.
